WHO WE ARE ......

Season’s greetings.

This is to bring to your kind notice that our yearly event at Hibiya Park, Tokyo has been named ‘Himalayan Fair – Nepal 2011’ this year, which is being organized on August 6 & 7, 2011. In continuation to our past events for the 5th consecutive year with the main intent of strengthening Japan-Nepal friendly relationship through cultural exchanges, promoting Nepal tourism & trade and bringing together Nepalis & friends of Nepal under one roof amidst various entertaining activities, this event is estimated to gather over 25,000 visitors in 2 days.

Your generous contributions and participation in our events in the past have been the main source of our success; thus enabling us to take one more stride towards enhanced innovation and creativity. We shall greatly appreciate your kind cooperation this year too.

The Embassy of Nepal in Tokyo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan and Nepal Tourism Board, have once again, extended their continued support to this event. This year, we are also committed to make contributions from the proceeds of this fair to the victims of March 11th disaster and avail few free stalls from the disaster hit areas as well.

Furthermore, on behalf of HIMALAYAN FAIR – Nepal 2011 executive committee, I would like to welcome you to this fair and experience a grand Himalayan atmosphere of exotic Nepali culture, cuisine & fun-filled activities and join with us to bring back some smiles to those sad faces and to try relieve their grief from the disaster of March 11th.

なぜヒマラヤンフェアーを

東日本大震災で亡くなられた方々のご冥福をお祈りするとともに、被災された方々には心よりお見舞い申し上げます。

本年度はいろいろなイベントが中止になる中、私たちは微力ながら被災された方々はじめ日本の皆様が元気になる様なイベントとして

8月6日（土）7日（日）の二日間、日比谷公園大噴水広場並びに小音楽堂で”ヒマラヤンフェアーNepal2011”を開催する運びとなりました。

そこで新しくヒマラヤンフェアーNEPAL実行委員会をたくさんの日本人やネパール人の皆さんに参加していただき立ち上げたいと思います。

もちろんヒマラヤンフェアーと名称は変わっても、昨年まで開催されていたネパールフェスティバルの第5回目として継承されているものです。

このような困難な時にこそ、日本人とネパール人が一つの傘のもと手を取り合って、イベントの様々なプログラムをを通してより太いネパールと

日本との絆を構築していきたいと思います。

今回のヒマラヤンフェアーも在日ネパール大使館、外務省、ネパール観光局の後援のもと行います。

何よりもフェアーを成功させるにはあなたのご協力が必要です。

OBJECT OF THE EVENT（開催の目的）

To give continuation to Japan-Nepal cordial relationship.

日本とネパールはすでに友好50周年を迎え、今後も両国の友好関係を維持・発展させていくためにフェスティバルを開催します。

To exhibit and promote Nepalese products, trade, cultural activities for the economic, cultural & social growths.

ネパールの多様な製品を様々な文化プログラムとともに紹介することにより、ネパール経済・文化・社会の拡大に結び付けます。

To bring together many Nepalis and friends of Nepal who are living in different parts of Japan.

日本各地に散らばっているネパール人たちの連帯感を強めます。

PARTICIPANTS (参加者) :

NGOs, food and beverage retailers, handicrafts owners, travel agencies, Airlines, jewelers, business houses, traders, etc.

NGO、レストラン、ハンディクラフト取扱い業者、旅行会社、航空会社、宝石商、貿易会社など。

PROGRAM OF EVENT 2011 (イベント概要):

AUG 6 : (1000hrs – 1900hrs)

Inauguration program : by H.E. Dr. Ganesh Yonzan Tamang (Ambassador), Nepal Embassy.

Stall displays, food/beverage exhibition & sale, cultural shows, games, seminars throughout the day.

開会式：ガーネシュヨンジャンタマン大使によるご挨拶。専門家による講演・民族衣装のファッションショーネパール製品の販売、ネパール料理・飲み物の販売

AUGUST 7: (1000hrs – 1700hrs)

Continuation of festivities until closing ceremony in the late afternoon.
